Hands on at the history museum — really

November 2, 2007

Perhaps inspired by the Saint Louis Art Museum’s very popular monthly Sunday afternoon family programs (if you’re not familiar with them, check out http://www.slam.org), the Missouri History Museum is starting something similar. In November and December there will be docent-led storytelling programs and craft projects geared toward kids under 10, all built around the artifacts on display. The times are 10:30 a.m. Fridays and 1 p.m. Saturdays. The only requirement is that parents hang with the kids the whole time, so no sneaking off to Kettle to Keg: Brewing in St. Louis, 1809-1909! More info at http://www.mohistory.org.
And let me just add one quick note about yesterday’s post: The Mad Art event is indeed open to children. The 4-year-old has already informed me he’d prefer it over his regular Friday night swim “because you know how much I love to paint.” Mmmhmm …
