A kid-friendly coffeehouse concert (Oct. 25)

October 23, 2008

Out of the blue the other evening at suppertime, S. asked if we were going to Music and Lights, our household’s nickname for free outdoor concerts.  I tried explaining that the seasons are changing and it’s going to be too cold for them (although it wasn’t particularly chilly that day), so we won’t be going to Music and Lights very much anymore.  He watched my spiel, then repeated his question with “Little Mama” tacked on the end, which he know from experience is an almost sure-fire way to melt my heart.  So I’ve been looking around for free concerts again, less than a month after most of the summer series ended.

And I’ve found a good one this week:  Barefoot Jones playing at the Hartford Coffee Co. Saturday (Oct. 25) from 7 to 10 p.m.  It’s an acoustic show in an all-ages, smoke-free venue.  You can’t bring a picnic, but you can get some good food and delicious fruit smoothies before the music starts.
